The McGregor Company

Savage Transportation was founded in 1958 by Paul Savage and originally operated under the name of Savage & Sons. In the late seventies the company incorporated and operated as Savage Western Transports, Inc.

The Savage family originally operated the small operation out of a location near the Pasco Airport for several years. Upon expanding its operation, the Savage family purchased 10.58 acres of land on Commercial Avenue, where it currently operates. The property is prominently situated on highway facing property where it is easily accessible off of highway I82. The company has grown over the years and expanded into several areas.

The company originally operated as primarily a trucking company. Over the years, the company expanded its operation to broker loads, as well as to repair trucks and trailers. In 2000 Savage Western Transports, Inc. remodeled its building and added several shop bays to expand the truck and trailer repair division. A parts store-front was also added to compliment the shop division. New and used equipment sales are also a part of its operation. A small area on the property is allocated for outside Truck and Trailer parking. The building remodel included additional square footage in the office area, which is rented to tenants desiring office space.

The Savage family sold its assets in July of 2005 to The McGregor Company. The McGregor Company now operates as Savage Transportation, LLC. The company offers transportation services, truck and trailer repairs, parts sales, office space rental and truck space rental.

The trucking division offers its services primarily within a 250 mile radius, serving the northwestern states. The fleet consists of twelve tractors and over thirty trailers. Flat bed and tank hauling is the primary trade. Savage hauls directly for its customers as well as brokers loads with overflow. The garage repairs its own equipment as well outside clientele’s equipment. The garage has seven fully functional bays. The garage is a state of the art facility with highly trained technicians. The company is fully licensed to sell Polar tanks and other new and used equipment. Equipment is also sold on consignment.
